Translation

All work carried out in compliance with the translation services standard BS EN 15038 comprises translation and revision, i.e. proofreading by a second qualified linguist. Because of STP's position as a supplier to other translation companies, we also carry out translation-only work, where our price comprises the thorough and properly executed translation by one of our translators.

We use the latest computer-assisted translation technology, and can handle most translation file formats.

Revision

We undertake revision work as part of our BS EN 15038 compliant service, and as a separate activity. A reviser, as defined in the translation standard BS EN 15038, examines the suitability of the translation for its purpose, including comparing the source text against the target text for terminological consistency, register and style, and proposes corrective measures. Revision is also sometimes called editing, proofreading, secondary proofreading or reviewing depending on convention.
